The band
The Vindicators formed in Bassano del Grappa in 1986, a year after Frigidaire Tango split, with some of that band's members, as a project “aimed at pure fun” somewhere between rock'n'roll and rockabilly. Their name nods to the Fleshtones, who inspired their show: the Fleshtones' Keith Streng and Bill Milhizer took part in the sessions for their debut album, That's All Rock (1987).
Roots Revolution (1989, C.G.D.) followed and, in 2011, the double CD Greatest Hits, with the best of both albums, four unreleased tracks and a second disc of live recordings. The stage was always their strength: they played from Trento to Naples, opened several Blues Brothers shows and were guests of honour at Arezzo Wave, until they split in 1992 after 102 concerts.
